CUSTOM BROKERAGE SERVICES
 
The Customs Laws require a Licensed Customs Broker must enter all Commercial Imports exceeding a value of US$5,000.00. It is however advisable to seek the services of a Licensed Customs Broker for all Commercial Imports.
     
We have a fully computerized operation and prepare all our entries via The Customs C78 Electronic Lodgment System and utilizes the Customs Pre-Approval Processing (PAP) and Electronic Payment (E-Pay) facility.
Documents Required  
(a) Commercial Invoices
(b) Bill of lading or Airway Bill
(c) Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN)
(d) Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
(e) Certificate of Origin and Caricom Invoices - Goods Originating in Caricom Countries
(f) Relevant Import permits or Licences that might be required for certain goods.
 
   
     
In cases where goods are being imported to be used in the island for a short period of time (usually up to three (3) months), the Customs Regulation provides for it to be cleared without the payment of Duties and Taxes. Adequate security must however be posted with The Commissioner of Customs for the Duties and Taxes that would have been payable. This security is normally posted in the form of a Letter of Guarantee issued by a Local Commercial Bank, A Bond posted by a Local Commercial Bank or Insurance Company or a Cash Deposit with the Collector of Customs. Where Goods are being imported for use to perform certain Projects, especially those in connection with Government Contracts, the Minister of Finance can waive the requirement of the Bond, Guarantee or Cash Deposit
Documents Required  
(a) Detailed Commercial Invoice of Goods being imported.
(b) Bill of lading or Airway Bill
(c) Letter of Guarantee, Bond Instrument, Manager’s cheque or cash deposit.
     
     
We are a Registered Exporter with the Jamaica Promotions Agency (JAMPRO) and as such we can handle all your commercial exports.
Documents Required
(a) Export Entry (C-82).
(b) JAMPRO Registration Number.
(c) Commercial Invoices.
(d) Certificate of Origin.
(e) Bill of Lading, Airway Bill.
